SAFETY & EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT
Each student will be required to bring the following safety equipment:
1. Eye Protection (preferably clear or yellow safety glasses);
2. Hearing Protectors (preferably the ear muff type);
3. Shirt with a button up collar;
4. Long Trousers or Pants;
5. Closed Toe Shoes; and
6. Gear Bag (capable of holding your handgun, ammunition and safety equipment).

HAND GUN REQUIREMENTS and RESTRICTIONS

MARKSMANSHIP COURSE
Our instructors recommend a small caliber handgun such as a 22 caliber for this course. If you do not have one, you may rent a 22 caliber pistol from the WNS Sport Shooting Range. If you intend to rent a pistol from the Range, you will have to reserve one when you register for the course. Each student will also be required to bring 50 rounds of good quality 22 caliber ammunition. You may not under any circumstances use any caliber pistol larger than a 38 Special.

CONCEALED HANDGUN LICENSE COURSE
Each student will provide their own handgun and magazine, if using a semi-automatic, and 50 rounds of the appropriate caliber ammunition. Students will not be allowed to use a handgun caliber smaller than a 32 caliber. Handguns of a caliber larger than a 45 caliber may not be used without prior special permission from the course instructor. Usually students qualify with the handgun they intend to use for concealed carry. You may use either a revolver or a semi-automatic handgun. Students will NOT need gun belts, holsters, or extras magazines.  Speed loaders are allowed.
